Hello Everyone and thank you for taking the time to read our latest newsletter.
This last week has seen a few new members join our growing community and on behalf of the administration team and myself, I would like to bid all a very warm welcome. All your memberships are highly valued as are any contributions you make. Thank you for joining and we all hope you enjoy United In Spirit.
This week in the latest Ning release all networks received a new email system and a tab for blogs. The new email system is great, easier to read and much more organised. The blog tab makes viewing and reading member's blog simple with all blogs accessible on the same page.
Within the next 2 weeks a class focusing on Healing The Inner Child will commence. This particular class is a powerful healing process of emotional, spiritual and mental issues. Often this class is very intense as we move through various processes, therefore requiring dedication to following the lessons and exercises, applying them in full honesty with your own self and also a high level of participation within a group situation. In other words YOU need to do the hard work in order to fully benefit.
If you would like to undertake this course and are prepared to reliably participate for 8-12 weeks, please request and invite to the private  group or alternatively email me with your user name so I can send you an invite. The first class is ear marked to begin on Monday 13th of October, time to be announced.
A great new concept has evolved on Ning called the Ning Directory of Networks . It is a great concept and place to advertise your Ning network and gain visibility. The whole concept relies on effectively indexing each site to provide a logical systemic way for members to join your network. This therefore, has the potential to guide members to your site. United In Spirit fully supports this network and as such has been active in assisting network owners to join. So if you have a Ning site, you should consider the benefits of the additional exposure.
The House of 1000 Mirrors
Long ago in a small, far away village in japan, there was a place
known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned
of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced
happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through
the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as
it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000
other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his.
He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just
as warm and friendly. As he left the house, he thought to himself,
"This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."
In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy
as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the
stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw
the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at
them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him.
As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I
will never go back there again."

you see in the faces of the people you meet?

Priming the Passion Pump
By Brad SwiftClarifying your life purpose is a team effort between the rational mind and the intuitive mind. The following exercise is an effective way to combine these two powerful resources to help you move forward along the pathway of a "life on purpose."
Engaging in the following questions utilizes your memory and your rational nature to prime the pump, making it easier to access the intuitive or creative nature. By the end of this exercise you will have a "rough draft" of a purpose statement. As you go about your daily activity, continue to refine and shape this statement. A life purpose is "alive." It grows and evolves the longer you care and nurture it.
As you ask yourself these questions, write down your responses in a journal, adding whatever comes to you as you are writing. Asking other people who know and support you what they see about you in regards to these questions will add "grist to the meal." Add whatever new insights that comes from these conversations to your journal so you will have a rich body of information to draw upon.
- What do you love to do? Look at times in your life when you were most alive, excited, in love with life. What were you doing during those moments? Who were you with? Ask people who know you when they've noticed you most alive and enthusiastic.
- What kind of people do you love to be with? Answer this both specifically (as in the specific people you love to be with) and in general (as in the types of people you enjoy). What are some of the things you could do in your life that would give you the opportunity to spend more time with these people?
- If money, time, energy, and talent were unlimited, what would you do with your life and who would you be? (If it's difficult to imagine any of these being unlimited, make a note of this. Then, let go of that concern and continue the exercise.)
- Who are some people that you greatly admire? These may be celebrities, people from history, family members or friends... What is it about these people that you admire? Is it a way of being, or a set of values, or what they are up to in life? Be as specific as you can?
- What values are most important to you? It's important to distinguish between the values that you think you should feel are important, and the ones you choose of your own free will.
- The next to the last step is to go back through this material and begin to look for the common thread or central theme that runs throughout. There is a common thread or central theme and your job is to find it, no matter how well it's disguised. Do not wonder if there is a common thread and then check to see if its true or not. There is one and your job is to find it. In fact, there may be two or three. If so, find all of them. One way to do this is to go through your notes with different color markers and circle repetitive words, phrases, or ideas. You may find there's several different times you wrote about being outdoors, and other times you wrote about nature. They are probably part of the same thread, but you'll have to judge that for yourself. Remember, if you aren't having fun, you're going down the wrong path. You are almost ready to create your purpose statement. There's just one more thing to keep in mind before doing so. It's to remember that whatever you create today can be changed, or erased and rewritten. In other words, YOU AREN'T STUCK WITH ANY LIFE PURPOSE. This is very important. All you're doing right now is creating a rough draft to try out for a couple of weeks.
- Once you've worked out the rational mind, it time to call in its tag-team member, your intuition. Pick your favorite way to access your intuitive powers. It may be meditating, taking a long walk, run or drive, or setting your intention to dream your life purpose. Read through your journaled material then access your intuition.
- After the above step, if you are still uncertain what your purpose statement is, clarify it with some free writing. As soon as you've finished step 7, complete each of the follow statements at least 5-6 times: My life purpose is... The purpose for which I'm here on the planet is... Who I am as a life purpose is... The vision I hold for the world is...
- Write down in a brief statement or paragraph what you say today your life purpose is. Remember, this is your rough draft from which you will be working. It's impossible at this point to get it wrong because it's only the start. Write down something and see if you can keep it to no more than 3 sentences.

Unconditional Love
by Owen Waters
The purpose of being human, as we shift into the New Reality,
is to learn about heart-centered consciousness.
The universe is, by its very design, filled with the love of
the Original Creator. Universal love is the aspect of Original
Consciousness which holds Creation together. In the Original
Creation, Infinite Being divided its consciousness into two
complementary aspects - thought and feeling - and then set them
into motion.
The love of the Original Creator forms the very fabric of
space. No material thing and no part of "empty" space is devoid
of that love. Universal love is literally everywhere. However,
the human condition is only affected by this love when it is
channeled into the human realm through its use by humans.
We are here on Earth to learn how to translate universal love
into human form.
Once universal love has been transformed through the
consciousness of any individual human being, it enters the
global mind atmosphere of Earth. We all share constant access
to this global mind. While we initiate thoughts and feelings on
our own, we also receive thoughts and feelings from the global
mind. We sometimes alter these by our own thought, sometimes
not, and then pass them back into the global mind. In an
unconscious way, but not consciously, people are fully
telepathic as they receive and transmit thoughts and feelings
from and to the global mind atmosphere.
When a person experiences heart-centered consciousness, they
radiate a type of consciousness which is very different to
basic emotion. Heart-centered consciousness is a state of
unconditional love. It is not a product of emotional like or
dislike. Once started, nothing in physical reality affects the
flow of unconditional love. It is something that just is,
regardless of the circumstances.
Unconditional love is something that flows through your heart
when you reach up above day-to-day consciousness, then open
your heart and just allow it. This heart-centered consciousness
always sees the elegant solution to the sorrows that can arise
from basic human emotions.
Unconditional love allows, accepts and supports. It is not
something you try to do. It just flows when you allow it to
enter your heart and take your consciousness above the cares of
daily reality and into an expanded vista of awareness.
Each time you radiate unconditional love into the global mind
atmosphere, you upgrade the entire human experience, taking
humanity yet one more step into the unfolding New Reality.

Thoughts From The I AM
by Michael Burtt

The instant we release self-judgment we are incapable of judging
anyone else. We can only judge ourselves if we have not accepted
ourselves unconditionally. The cause of judgment is lack of self-love
and to surrender judgment, you must release fear. Every experience is
an equally valid expression of life and as such we cannot judge it.
True, justice is the allowance of all that is.
The surrender of judgment is to fulfill your only purpose here and
unify your self to your divinity. Who are we to deprive anyone of his
right to enrich his soul with whatever experience he chooses? The
forgiveness of separation (non-judgment) sees any condition, act, or
person as being in the right place for learning.
Happiness is a choice at every moment. It flows from the I AM source
within and is then reflected back from everything without.
Judging good as better than bad immediately calls bad onto the stage
to perform. If one side of the balance is given value, we give birth
to its opposite as a reality to be experienced. Newton's Law applies
to the pairs of opposites: for every action there is an equal and
opposite reaction. Resistance creates the opposite of its intent.
Defense calls for attack, attack calls for defense. Fear not released
must manifest as experience. Why? Because we are here to experience
all emotions and emotion always precedes wisdom.
Open Up And Welcome
Judgment is born of fear, and what we fear we empower, and will soon
attract to us. To welcome means to receive with love. Guilt is always
an acceptance of judgment and indicates a lesson not learned. The
tongue that abuses cannot converse with God; for once we have lost the
power to harm, we can finally bear witness to God.
To own an emotion it only needs to be experienced once. No emotion
must ever be resisted but welcomed. Whatever does not matter as a
preference will not materialize as an experience. Attachment leads to
pain. If anyone has hurt you, this means you searched for happiness
outside yourself.
Happiness is a choice at every moment. It flows from the I AM source
within and is then reflected back from everything without. Making this
choice is the shift from tragic to magic. Embracing is the key to the
understanding of how to balance polarities. The waters of the brook do
not accuse the rock of being in its path. The water flows around the
rock giggling gently. Embrace, welcome and face any emotion.
When we criticize our brothers, we affirm separation and reject
reality or oneness. There is only one being here. Reality is diversity
in oneness. Great efforts to fight disease and sickness result in more
sickness in the world. If sickness matters enough to be feared, then
it has to materialize to be experienced. This process is in exact
obedience to the law of polarities. True perception sees the idea of
loss as the problem; not the loss itself, which is just form.
Return To The Source
The root cause of poverty is withholding love from one's brother.
"Real" poverty is the lack of loving yourself. Money is but the
physical form of the universal energy of love. Let God pay the bills
as love can only be increased by giving. The game of getting achieves
the opposite as our hunt for supply is based on the fear of not having
enough. Where lack of any kind is experienced, the I AM is not
acknowledged. To be is all there is...The I AM is my source.
The above thoughts were sparked by the book, "God I Am" by Peter Erbe,
©1991 and ©2001, published by Triad Publications.
"WITH SELF"
KNOWING WHO WE are and what we are here to contribute,
and supporting this in ourselves and others, will immediately
place us in alignment. This chapter could probably be summed
up in one sentence:
When we follow the path of what "feels good" to us, we
cannot go wrong.
And following what feels good to us is dictated by who we are. If
something feels good to us, it is usually best to go that route. In
this way, we are continually on a path of where we need to be.
We are in alignment, then, with ourselves. One sure fire way to
know who we are and what we are about, is to follow the path of
what feels good. When we feel a passion for something, it is
because we are remembering what it was that we came to do.
When we feel passion, it is because most everything about a
certain subject or path is fitting us and in alignment with us.
The more ducks there are in a row in regard to what fits us, the
more passion we feel. And the more passion we feel, the more
in alignment with Source we are, allowing this energy to pour
through us with no hesitation. This is the way it was meant to
be.
At times we may not do what we love or what feels best because
it does not generate money, or we feel a responsibility to others,
or possibly we even put ourselves last. A lamp cannot generate
light if it is not filled with oil. The heart must first pump blood
to itself before it can take care of the rest of our body. And even
on an airline, we are advised in an emergency to place an
oxygen mask on ourselves before we place one on our children.
Taking the time to pursue a hobby, a creative outlet, or a
specific interest allows us to be much more of who we are. And
being as much of whom we are as we possibly can, greatly
places us in alignment with Source, as the part of us that is
truly Source, is the pure gold nugget of our gifts and talents.
Taking time for ourselves in this way also benefits others, as
our vibration is then higher.
Following our interests and spending as much time in
this arena as we can, places us in alignment with who
we are.
In more highly evolved societies in other worlds, the purpose
and contribution of each individual at their time of birth is
widely known by all. In this way, each and every person can
then be supported by the whole. Who they are is known and
seen, so an alignment to Source is then greatly supported.
When we know the soul purpose of another, we are then able to
support it in all ways. Many times when we think we are
helping, we are actually hindering, as with good intentions in
mind, we really do not know that all is in order when we see
what appears to be suffering on the part of another.
Supporting the soul purpose of another places us in
alignment with ourselves.
Integrity Marks the Trail
By following the path that feels good, we are not only in
alignment with our intentions, but we are also more in
alignment with Source. This is because higher emotions line us
up with the higher realms. Feeling good and being in a higher
state of being also assists us in manifesting many more things
that feel good. Remember, like energy attracts like energy.
Taking the road of doing what is right for us, automatically
places us in the higher realms. No matter what the options are
around us...even those that were created from an old 3D energy
and are no longer a viable choice; knowing that we can still
choose and create an option that fits us no matter what, places
us in alignment with ourselves.
Have you ever felt like a fish out of water because you were
involved with something that did not match your level of
integrity? Or perhaps even wearing an item of clothing that
simply was not you. Wearing something that doesn't fit who
we are, can make us feel strange and uncomfortable all day!
One day I was writing in my sweats for quite awhile, and then
had to go out and meet someone. I changed into my favorite
pair of boots, called Ropers, my favorite jeans, put on my
favorite woven bracelet, and away I went. I could not believe
how much better and powerful I felt only because I was much
more of me than I was in my sweats!
We need to be more of who we are to be in alignment. And I
cannot emphasize this enough.
When we are in alignment with who we are, we are
immediately connected to Source."

Affirmation Power
by Louise L. Hay

Affirmations are really anything that we say or think. Our thoughts
create our feelings, beliefs, and experiences. Too often they are
negative. we say, "I don't want this in my life" or "I don't want to
be sick anymore" or "I hate my job". If we want to change or manifest
something in our lives, we must state what we do want. We must affirm
that we are willing to see ourselves or our lives in a different
perspective. Thus, we can change our experiences by first changing our
thoughts.
When you first start using an affirmation, it may not seem true for
you. If it were already true, you would not need the affirmation. For
example, think of what happens when you plant a seed. First it
germinates, then it sprouts roots, and then it pokes its first shoot
up through the ground. It takes time to go from a seed to a full-grown
plant. And so it is with affirmations. Be gentle and patient with
yourself.
You may also experience some doubt as to whether you are doing the
affirmations correctly or even whether the affirmations are doing any
good at all. This is perfectly normal. You see, the subconscious mind
is like a filing cabinet -- all the thoughts, words, and experiences
you have had since birth get filed away like messages. Think of your
mind as having a team of couriers who grab the messages, look at them,
and put them in the appropriate files. Perhaps you have been building
up files for years with messages such as: I'm not good enough," "I'm
not smart enough to do that," or "Why Bother?" The subconscious gets
absolutely buried under these files.
Suddenly, when the couriers begin seeing messages that say, "I'm
wonderful and I love myself", they respond with, "What is this? Where
do we file this? We've never seen this message before."
That's when they call in "Doubt". Doubt picks up the message and says
to you, "Hey, look at this. We have no place to file this one -- it
must be a mistake." You can either say to Doubt, "Oh, you re right.
'I'm terrible. I'm not good. Sorry, I made a mistake", and go back to
your old way of thinking. Or, you can say to Doubt, "Thank you for
sharing, but this is the new message. Set up a new file because there
are going to be lots of these coming through." By doing so, over time
you will change your thinking and create a new reality for yourself.
Remember, you are in charge.
Reinforce your new, positive affirmations in any way you can: in your
thoughts, your conversations with yourself and others, and by writing
them down in this journal, which I created to inspire you on your path
to personal growth and healing. You may choose to use the affirmations
on each page as a springboard to write your own. Once you find
affirmations that are right for you, you may want to put them up on
your mirror, on your desk, or on your car dashboard.
Remember: One thought does not mean much, but thoughts that we think
over and over are like drops of water -- at first there are just a
few, and then after a while you've created a pool, and then a lake,
and then an ocean. If our thinking is negative, we can drown in a sea
of negativity; if its positive, we can float on the ocean of life.

Instant mood elevators

In this day of instant gratification, I get asked if there are any
instant mood elevators?
Well there are no real short cuts to long term happiness, but there
sure are quick fixes to get you started on the path of happiness.
So without further ado...here goes!!!
1. When feeling down, contort the right side of your face. Vigorously
contorting the right side of the face will release positive emotions
by increasing activity in the left frontal hemisphere. Left frontal
hemisphere has been linked with verbal skills, orientation in time,
rational, logical, analytical thinking, happiness and positive
emotions. ( Imp..do not contract the left side as that may lead to
sadness !!!!!)
2. Grab a piece of dark chocolate ...Just one small square is
enough!!! Try and go for over 60% cocoa. It releases serotonin in the
brain, which produces a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. Studies
show that melting chocolate in one's mouth increases brain activity
and heart rate. What are you waiting for? Remember stick to one small
square.....
3. Smile!!!!!fake it if you have to. Again it is about cheating your
brain into releasing endorphins.
4. Knead dough or clay, knit, paint, or do pottery, wash and rinse
your clothes ( no washing machines) gardening, sewing, massaging,
ironing.. anything that will make use of your hands. Now I understand
why the Pilipino helpers are always smiling!!!!!
5. Go for a swim or go for a hike, (enough trails around) any form of
exercise. Kissing is also considered exercise as it burns 26 cal per
minute, releases endorphins and prevents facial wrinkles!!!!!
6. Get into the habit of writing a gratitude (thank you) journal. This
will encourage your brain to consciously look out for things that you
are grateful for and those that make you happy.
7. Light some incense or spray some aromatherapy oils on your pillow
or put some in your bath. According to research the amygdala is
affected by smell. Differing aromatic rings are contained with
essential oils. When we smell these, the odor is transferred into a
nerve message. The message is sent to different parts of the brain
where the process of stimulating different hormones is undertaken.
8. Play Mozart or any music that you like. I listened to Barbara
Streisand when I was really depressed, but I can't do that anymore.
Our taste in music changes with the change in our moods and we can
also change our mood by listening to the appropriate music. Music has
an amazing ability to lift our spirits, gives us new insights and
stimulates our mind.
9. Another interesting exercise that works for me. Massaging the point
of the Amygdala. Simple way to locate the amygdala gland is by placing
your thumbs in your ears, and then place your middle fingers near the
inside corners of your eyes. The amygdala gland is found about 1" into
the forehead where your index fingers fall. The frontal lobe of the
brain can be located by placing your palm on your forehead. The entire
area covered by your palm is where the frontal lobes are located.
Massaging this area stimulates a release of endorphins. Try it.
10. Watch a silly comedy. Laugh your head off. It might be difficult
when you are already down and depressed, so before sitting down for
that comedy, get yourself a piece of dark chocolate..maybe a glass of
red wine , spray your surroundings with beautiful smelling oils and
get ready to lift your spirits.
So no excuses for not pulling yourself out of the funk.....so get
moving and get happy.

Quote Of The Week
"In our deepest moments of struggle, frustration, fear, and confusion, we
are being called upon to reach in and touch our hearts. Then, we will
know what to do, what to say, how to be."
Pondering's
When was the last time you stumbled? Or did you fall for something, or in love? What does falling feel like to you? What went through your mind? (Some Native tribes believe that stones fall because they so deeply love the Earth; perhaps your physical being carries that same desire...)
When was the last time you fell?
Reflections~Poetry With Meaning
FLYING WITHOUT WINGS
Vibrations rise, it's time to fly
into the stars, beyond the sky
the heart in perfect beat it sings
and so one flies now without wings
A feather light, all weight released
the past is gone and now the feast
as peace abounds in perfect light
for now one is in joyous flight
A heart its flame is bursting forth
a love explosion  fills the earth
divine is present everywhere
for wingless flight's a soul affair

Gift of Life
Awakening with a sun filled sky
Stretching with flowers that have awoken to greet the morning sun
Flowing with the breeze that greets the peaceful flowers
Laughing as the afternoon sky parts the gracious breeze
Dancing under a glorious afternoon blue sky
Surfing along with the gentle wind that ushers in a surreal sunset
Looking in wonder how the sun bids the day farewell
Chasing the fading sunlight only to be enthralled by evening stars
Skipping from delight as the stars captivate the black sky
Breathing in the light as the moon salutes the evening sky
Resting as the moon finds it place above us all
Dreaming of the beauty that we are,
and truly loving the gift of life.
