Introduction to the chakras

What chakras are and their psychological properties

Chakras are centers of energy, located on the midline of the body. There are seven of them, and they govern our psychological properties. The chakras located on the lower part of our body are our instinctual side, the highest ones our mental side.

clip_image001The chakras can have various levels of activity. When they're "open," they're considered operative in a normal fashion.

Ideally, all chakras would contribute to our being. Our instincts would work together with our feelings and thinking. However, this is usually not the case. Some chakras are not open enough (being under-active), and to compensate, other chakras are over-active. The ideal state is where the chakras are balanced.

There exist lots of techniques to balance the chakras. Mostly techniques to open chakras are used. It makes no sense to try to make over-active chakras less active, as they are compensating for other chakras. To restore the compensation they'd be over-active again in no time. To stop them from compensating, the chakras they are compensating for must be opened.

clip_image0021 - Root chakra

The Root chakra is about being physically there and feeling at home in situations. If it is open, you feel grounded, stable and secure. You don't unnecessarily distrust people. You feel present in the here and now and connected to your physical body. You feel you have sufficient territory.

If you tend to be fearful or nervous, your Root chakra is probably under-active. You'd easily feel unwelcome.

If this chakra is over-active, you may be very materialistic and greedy. You're probably obsessed with being secure and resist change.

clip_image0032 - Sacral chakra

The Sacral chakra is about feeling and sexuality. When it is open, your feelings flow freely, and are expressed without you being over-emotional. You are open to intimacy and you can be passionate and lively. You have no problems dealing with your sexuality.

If you tend to be stiff and unemotional or have a "poker face," the Sacral chakra is under-active. You're not very open to people.

If this chakra is over-active, you tend to be emotional all the time. You'll feel emotionally attached to people and you can be very sexual.

clip_image0043 - Navel chakra

The Navel chakra is about asserting yourself in a group. When it is open, you feel in control and you have sufficient self esteem.

When the Navel chakra is under-active, you tend to be passive and indecisive. You're probably timid and don't get what you want.

If this chakra is over-active, you are domineering and probably even aggressive.

clip_image0054 - Heart chakra

The Heart chakra is about love, kindness and affection. When it is open, you are compassionate and friendly, and you work at harmonious relationships.

When your Heart chakra is under-active, you are cold and distant.

If this chakra is over-active, you are suffocating people with your love and your love probably has quite selfish reasons.

clip_image0065 - Throat chakra

The Throat chakra is about self-expression and talking. When it is open, you have no problems expressing yourself, and you might be doing so as an artist.

When this chakra is under-active, you tend not to speak much, and you probably are introverted and shy. Not speaking the truth may block this chakra.

If this chakra is over-active, you tend to speak too much, usually to domineer and keep people at a distance. You're a bad listener if this is the case.

clip_image0076 - Third Eye chakra

The Third Eye chakra is about insight and visualization. When it is open, you have a good intuition. You may tend to fantasize.

If it is under-active, you're not very good at thinking for yourself, and you may tend to rely on authorities. You may be rigid in your thinking, relying on beliefs too much. You might even get confused easily.

If this chakra is over-active, you may live in a world of fantasy too much. In excessive cases halucinations are possible.

clip_image0087 - Crown chakra

The Crown chakra is about wisdom and being one with the world. When this chakra is open, you are unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself.

If it is under-active, you're not very aware of spirituality. You're probably quite rigid in your thinking.

If this chakra is over-active, you are probably intellectualising things too much. You may be addicted to spirituality and are probably ignoring your bodily needs.

Healing With Crystals

Many crystals have healing properties that you can discover. Crystals vibrate to at different frequencies to enhance healing.

Quartz crystals have excellent healing properties. Quartz also has the ability to transform an imbalanced energy field. When you feel stressed the crystal can balance your energies and revitalize you.

Others minerals besides quartz crystals - display healing properties. Small quartz crystals left in water will ionize the water and is a good drink for healing.

You can use crystals yourself to heal or find a qualified healer. Most crystal healing is guided to the healer by Spirit - who will tell the healer which crystals will be most effective and the patterns the crystals should be placed on or around the person's body. The length of time used with the crystals will vary with each patient and healer. The healer must determine the person's frequency and attune it to the crystals that will create healing and balance. All healing is about placing the body in balance.

Treatments will vary in length and number of times required. They may not always work.

Owning a crystal that you carry with you - or keep in the area you spend most of your time - can enhance the healing after you work with the healer.

It's always good to have a few quartz crystals around your home to balance the energies, even if you do not need healing.

Many people connect the color frequency of a specific chakra with that of the stone being used. For example - if one were healing the throat chakra - one would use one or more blue stones placed on the throat chakra alone - or in patterns.

Atlanteans allegedly erected huge crystal healing temples. Their civilization was based on the use of stored - and directed use of crystal technology.

The ancient Mayans, Hebrew, Vedic and Native American cultures used crystals and gemstones both in spiritual rituals and as aids to physical healing. Those who practice the ways of the ancient cultures continue to use crystals as healing tools.

Crystals were used in the earliest shamanic rites as tools for initiation and healing, as talisman, and meditation.

Acceptance Means Unconditional Love

Angels wish to remind you to accept everyone

exactly as they are without

judging blaming or wanting to change them

When you are totally accepting you

bear no malice or enmity towards

anyone or anything

Harmlessness through acceptance is a high state of being and this is a difficult

quality for humans to embrace for it is a divine quality

Nevertheless Angels are drawing it

to your attention now

You are also asked to accept yourself

As when you truly do you feel

centred and confident

And your divine self is revealed.

This Week's Meditation- Observing Yourself

The Whale

A female humpback whale had become entangled in a spider web of crab trap
sand lines.
She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to
struggle to stay afloat.
She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her
tail, her torso, as well as a line
tugging in her mouth.
A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the
Golden Gate) and radioed for help.
Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was
so bad off,
the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her. A very
dangerous proposition, as
one slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.
They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.
When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous
She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them,
pushed gently, thanking them.
Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him
the whole time, and
he will never be the same.....
May you, and all those you love,
be so fortunate...
to be surrounded by people
who will help you get untangled
from the things that are binding you.
And, may you always know the joy
of giving and receiving gratitude.

I hope that this first edition has provided you all with some useful information and has contributed to your growth and development in some way. I look forward to walking with you all...

In Love, Light and Peace Always,

Founder of United In Spirit.
